Q: I recently had the strawberry and arugula salad at Food 101. It was absolutely divine! Could you please get the recipe so I could make this delicious salad at home?

A: What a perfect time of year for this colorful recipe from Food 101 chef/partner, Scott Crawford (left). This salad is bursting with a variety of flavors: peppery arugula, sweet ruby red strawberries and tangy blue cheese. The recipe makes extra dressing. It can be stored for up to a week in the refrigerator.

Hands on time: 15 minutes  Total time: 15 minutes  Serves: 4

Ingredients:

    1/4 cup blue cheese
    1/4 cup red wine vinegar
    1/4 cup cider vinegar
    1 cup canola oil
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Tabasco to taste
    1/2 tablespoon fresh parsley
    Salad:
    4 cups fresh cleaned arugula
12 large fresh sweet strawberries, sliced
    1 cup blue cheese crumbles
    1/4 red onion, julienned

Instructions:

To prepare the dressing: In a blender or food processor, combine the blue cheese and the red wine and cider vinegars. With the blender running, slowly add the oil in a stream until the dressing emulsifies. Transfer to a bowl and season with salt, pepper and Tabasco. Whisk in the parsley.

To prepare the salad: In a serving bowl, toss the arugula with 1/3 cup dressing, or until lightly coated. Top with berries, blue cheese and red onions.
