A great place to slip onto a bar stool and into a martini in the ATL is Buckhead Diner, where the barkeeps know how to dirty things up just right. General manager Shannon Dye says, "The great thing about this recipe is that it's not complicated. The ingredients are simple." It was created by bartender Jared Reisman.

Hands on time: 1 minutes Total time: 1 minutes Serves: 1
Ingredients:
-
2 ounces gin
1 1/4 ounces olive juice
Olives for garnish
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker to the top with ice and add the gin and olive juice; shake until the metal is so cold you can't hold it any longer. (Reisman says he shakes until his arm hurts.) This creates the perfect mixture and a layer of ice crystals on top. Pour into a chilled martini glass and add the olives.
Notes:
This drink was the AJC's pick for the Best Cocktail 2008 in accessAtlanta.com's Best of the Big A. For more about Best of the Big A, go to www.accessatlanta.com/boba.
