A Baker's Dozen of Christmas Cookies -- Day 7
I was an avid cook as a child -- even before I was allowed to use the oven by myself. My mom would never let me make cookies without supervision, but I could use the stovetop to melt chocolate. My poor mother: Come holiday season I made batch after batch after batch of these cookies.

Hands on time: 10 minutes Total time: 3 hours and 10 minutes Serves: Makes 20 slices
Ingredients:

1 package (6-ounce size) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 cups miniature marshmallows, assorted colors
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (divided use)
Instructions:
In a saucepan melt chocolate chips and butter or margarine. Remove from heat and let cool.
Add colored marshmallows and 1/4 cup of the nuts. Mix well and divide into two 6” long rolls; coat rolls with remaining nuts.
Wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly 2-3 hours. Slice and serve.

Total time includes 3 hours of chilling time.
