Made famous by: Gisela Brooks of Decatur, who used to bring it to school-oriented potluck dinners when her children were younger. "I do not know where this recipe came from, but everyone always ranted and raved about it, " she said.
Sweet and colorful, this fruit medley can be served as a side dish or a dessert.

Ingredients:

1 (10-ounce) box frozen sliced strawberries in light syrup, thawed
1 (20-ounce) can pineapple chunks in juice, drained
1 (11-ounce) can mandarin orange slices, drained
1 (21-ounce) can peach pie filling
3 bananas, peeled and sliced into rounds
Instructions:
Pour strawberries and their syrup into a large bowl. Add drained pineapple chunks and mandarin orange slices. Stir in peach pie filling. (Can be prepared a day in advance. Cover and store in refrigerator.) Before serving, stir in sliced bananas.
Notes:
Make a day in advance by combining all ingredients except the bananas. An hour or two before serving, stir in the freshly sliced bananas.
