Q: The Buckhead Bread Company has the most wonderful granola. Do you think they would share this marvelous recipe with us?
- Carol Knox, Hamilton, Ga.

A: This lovely version of granola is the creation of chef Alou Niangadou, a native of Mali, who came to Atlanta by way of Paris and New York, where he was the bakery chef at the famed gourmet food store Zabar's.

Niangadou's granola is especially popular with the breakfast and brunch crowds, who often get it with yogurt, then top it with strawberries.

Hands on time: 15 minutes  Total time: 45 minutes  Serves: Makes 7 cups

Ingredients:

    2 cups plain granola cereal
    1 cup medium walnut pieces
    1 cup dried sweetened cranberries
    1 cup golden raisins
    1 cup dark raisins
    1 cup dried sweetened cherries
    1/2 to 3/4 cup milk

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the granola cereal, walnuts, cranberries, raisins and cherries. Gradually add milk and mix for 3 to 5 minutes until mixture is evenly moistened. Spread evenly on a baking sheet. Bake until dried, about 30 minutes. Watch carefully so raisins do not burn.
