Peppermint isn’t just for the holidays — the creamy, refreshing flavor of this cocktail, created for Grey Goose vodka by über mixologist Nick Mautone (author of “Raising the Bar” [Artisan, $27.50]), is a wonderful cold weather ice breaker.
Hands on time: 2 minutes Total time: 2 minutes Serves: 1
Ingredients:
-
1 1/2 ounces vodka
1 ounce peppermint schnapps
1/2 ounce simple syrup (see note)
1/2 ounce light cream
Ice
Candy cane or peppermint patty to garnish
Instructions:
Mix the vodka, schnapps, simple syrup (see note below) and light cream in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat. Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a candy cane or peppermint patty.
Notes:
Make simple syrup by mixing equal parts sugar and water and bringing them to a boil. Cool, then keep tightly covered in the fridge until needed.
