From the Menu of ... Jim White's Half Shell

When Jim White's Half Shell closed, the AJC's Food Goddess column was inundated by readers like Kathy Tharpe of Atlanta who craved the secret recipe for its house salad dressing. This is the response to Ms. Tharpe from Linda Strickland in Alpharetta.
Ms. Strickland writes: "After dining at Jim White's Half Shell for at least 20 years, I was finally able to persuade our regular server to get the salad dressing recipe for me. She went to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later, relating how the dressing was made. This is what I was told: She watched the cook pour the contents of a large Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing Mix packet into the blender, following the instructions on the package, and threw in a handful of fresh watercress. I was shocked that it could be so easy, but when I tried it at home, it was, in fact, the same dressing. I've been making it for years."
